Trisha Neil is a registered Clinical Psychologist who is experienced in supporting people 16-85+ years of age to manage mental health concerns. She provides empathetic and non-judgemental treatment and has supported people experiencing psychological difficulties including or associated with:
  • Personality Disorders
  • Intense and difficult to manage emotions (emotion dysregulation)  
  • Interpersonal relationship difficulties, including conflict and communication
  • Anxiety, disorders including phobia and panic disorder
  • Mood disorders, including depression
  • Perinatal mental health concerns
  • Education or workplace stress
  • Self esteem and self identity questions 
  • Trauma and acute stress disorders
  • Life adjustment
  • Grief and loss
  • General well-being and resilience building
  • Stress associated with ageing and related change 

Trisha uses a collaborative approach and works alongside clients to help them achieve their therapeutic goals, and manage the challenges that arise along the way. Trisha aims to create a safe space for clients to feel comfortable, supported and heard. She uses evidence based therapeutic approaches including cognitive and behavioural therapies, ACT, DBT, and Schema Informed interventions. She also draws on a neuro-psychotherapeutic framework to consider the diverse bio-psychosocial factors that contribute to changes in mental health. Trisha tailors treatment to individuals’ unique circumstances in a way that conveys the genuine care and respect she has for those with whom she works. 
Trisha’s current areas of special interest include:
  • Gender and LGBTQIA+ related concerns
  • Personality disorders 
 
Alongside her colleagues at Sound Psychology Ballarat, Trisha has a strong interest in working with people experiencing gender related concerns.
